Google Launches Search Console Platform Properties

Google has introduced Platform Properties, a new Search Console property type that enables creators and publishers to measure how their social media and video content performs across Google Search and Discover. Announced on July 7, 2026, the feature is aimed at helping creators gain a consolidated view of how audiences discover their content, including creators who do not operate their own website.

The rollout follows an earlier experiment and reflects Google’s effort to support creators who increasingly rely on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube to reach audiences.

Search Console Expands Beyond Websites

With Platform Properties, creators can connect their social or video accounts directly to Search Console to monitor how their content appears in Google Search. Google said the feature is designed to help site owners and creators understand which search queries drive users to their posts and how audiences interact with their content through Search and Discover.

The new property type supports four platforms at launch: Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.

Three New Reporting Features

Platform Properties introduces three dedicated reporting tools within Search Console.

The Performance Report provides data on clicks, impressions, and other key metrics. Users can filter and sort results to identify which posts and search terms generate the most traffic. Creators can also export the data for use in external analytics tools.

The Insights Report offers a high-level overview of recent traffic trends, showcases top-performing posts, and explains how people discover an account through Google Search.

The Achievements feature allows creators to track growth milestones, including reaching new thresholds for total Google Search clicks over the previous 28 days.

How to Set Up a Platform Property

Creators can add a Platform Property by opening Search Console and selecting the option to add a new property. They can then choose one of the four supported platforms, Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube, and complete the verification process to securely authorize the connection.

Once verified, eligible accounts will gain access to the new reports within Search Console.

Gradual Rollout Underway

Google said Platform Properties will become available gradually over the coming weeks rather than launching globally at once. The company is also encouraging creators to share feedback through the “Submit feedback” option in Search Console or via the Google Search Central Community as it continues to refine the feature.

The announcement was made by Moshe Samet, Product Manager Lead for Search Console, in a post published on the Google Search Central Blog.
