one step ahead in providing the most relevant search results to its users. This
technology is based upon understanding the real world entities and their
relationships. Now, a search query can be narrowed to match the entity you are
looking for. In this way, you will get more relevant results. With this
technology Google goes a step ahead of its major competitor Bing.
Release Date
It was released on 16th May 2012.
What exactly is a Knowledge Graph?

Knowledge graph is a search technology which would help you
to find out new information quickly and easily. Knowledge graph would present
before you the best possibilities of entities based upon your search query. You
can choose the one you are looking for. In this way it narrows the search
results. Now after Google understands what exactly you are looking for, it
would display a brief summary of your searched topic. Not only this, you
may also get to know about some strange facts which you have never heard of.
This is the Google’s presentation of data to the world- The Knowledge Graph.
Example Query

Suppose if you are searching for “John Milton”, then this
new addition would show you a summary about John Milton and some important
information about him like when was he born, when did he died , his education
etc. It will also show you some links to queries which people searched the most
about John Milton in the past. In this way, you will get the information
quickly and easily.
The knowledge graph is currently focused upon what people
search the most. The data contained in the Knowledge graph has been compiled
using a variety of sources like Wikipedia but is not limited to any single
source.
