The best business listing management software for most small businesses is BrightLocal or Semrush Local, because both publish a clear price per location and sync your details to the sites that matter. Multi-location brands with hundreds of stores should look at Yext, Uberall, SOCi or Forsta’s listings product (formerly sold as Rio SEO). If you only need a one-time cleanup, Whitespark’s manual Listings Service costs less than a year of any subscription.
I reviewed and ranked the best local SEO software for business listing management. These top GMB listings tools are best for SEO agencies, freelancers, and local business owners. For each one you will learn how it pushes your data, how big its directory network is, what it costs, and where it falls short. Every price and network size below comes from the vendor’s own page.
Key Takeaways
- Only BrightLocal and Semrush publish a full per-location monthly price. BrightLocal Manage costs $54 a month (or $40 a month billed yearly), and Semrush Local Pro costs $60 a month.
- Yext, Uberall and Forsta each claim a network of more than 200 directories and platforms. None of them lists a public price.
- Whitespark sells manual listing builds as one-time packages from $399 per location, with no subscription.
- Listing sync is not instant. Forsta says changes can take a few weeks to show, and Birdeye’s verifier can take up to 14 days to reflect an update.
- Agencies get the most from Vendasta, Synup and Whitespark, because all three offer white-label or reseller options.

How Listing Management Software Actually Works
Every tool on this list does the same basic job. You enter your business name, address, phone number, hours and other details once. The software then sends that data to search engines, maps, directories and apps, and keeps watching for changes. If you want the bigger picture first, our guide to local SEO explains why consistent listings matter for map rankings.
The tools differ in how they send the data. There are three methods, and knowing them saves you from paying for the wrong one.
- Two-way API sync. The tool sends data to a site and reads data back. Yext calls this dual-sync and names Google, Facebook and Yelp as examples. You get status updates and analytics from these sites.
- One-way submission. The tool pushes data but gets nothing back. Yext’s help docs say submission integrations let you create and maintain listings but give “no status or analytics data.”
- Manual building. A person creates or fixes each listing by hand and hands you the logins. Whitespark works this way, and the listings you get stay yours even if you stop paying.
Most subscription tools mix the first two methods. That is why one vendor can claim 200 sites while another claims 70, yet both cover Google, Apple, Bing and Facebook. The extra sites are often small niche or regional directories. Some still matter, though, since AI assistants pull business facts from many of them, as our list of citation sites for AI search shows.
Data aggregators are the other piece. These companies sell business data to apps, car navigation systems and smaller directories. BrightLocal names five of them on its pricing page: Data Axle, Neustar Localeze, Foursquare, Yellow Pages Network and GPS Network. Fixing your record at an aggregator can correct dozens of downstream listings over time.
What Listing Management Costs Per Location
Only two vendors on this list publish a complete monthly price for one location. The chart shows both, with the plans that include ongoing listing sync in orange. BrightLocal Track ($41) and Semrush Local Base ($30) are cheaper, but neither includes the sync feature, so do not compare them to the other tools.
The real entry price for listing sync is $54 a month on BrightLocal Manage or $60 a month on Semrush Local Pro. BrightLocal drops to $40 a month if you pay yearly, which makes it the cheapest published option for a single location.
Which Tool Has the Biggest Directory Network?
Yext, Uberall and Forsta all claim more than 200 directories, publishers or platforms. Synup claims more than 100, Semrush Local more than 70, and Vendasta’s own Listing Sync Pro more than 50. SOCi and Birdeye do not give a single count, so they are not in the chart.
A bigger number does not always mean better results. The listings that move rankings most are Google, Apple Maps, Bing, Facebook and Yelp, and every paid tool here covers those. Before you pay for reach, run a free scan with one of the business citation checkers we tested and see how many errors you really have.
The 10 Best Business Listing Management Software Tools
1. BrightLocal: Best Overall Value for Small Businesses and Agencies
BrightLocal is a local SEO suite with rank tracking, reviews, audits and listings in one account. For listings, it offers two separate things, and new users often mix them up.
The first is Active Sync, which is included in the Manage and Grow plans. It keeps your business details in step across what BrightLocal calls “key sites.” The pricing page does not name those sites or give a count. The second is Citation Builder, a pay-as-you-go service where BrightLocal’s team submits your business to directories and to the five data aggregators named earlier. It starts at $3.20 per site, or as low as $2 per citation with bulk credits, and it has no recurring fee.
| BrightLocal plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Listing sync |
|---|---|---|---|
| Track | $41/mo | $31/mo ($369/yr) | No |
| Manage | $54/mo | $40/mo ($485/yr) | Yes |
| Grow | $65/mo | $49/mo ($584/yr) | Yes |
Price rises with location count. For example, Manage costs $76 a month for 2 to 5 locations and $769 a month for 91 to 100 locations. Above 100 locations, BrightLocal quotes on request.
Who it suits: single-location owners who want listings, reviews and rank tracking in one bill, and agencies who need to report on many small clients. Limitation: the sync network is not itemized on the pricing page, so you cannot check coverage before you buy.
2. Semrush Local: Best for Teams Already Using Semrush
Semrush Local is the local toolkit inside Semrush. Its Listing Management feature lets you “share and manage your business information across 70+ directories with just 1 click,” according to the Semrush knowledge base.
Pricing is per location, billed monthly. Local Base costs $30 a month and covers Google Business Profile tools and a Map Rank Tracker with 375 credits. Local Pro costs $60 a month and adds Listing Management, review management and Google Business Profile optimization, with 1,225 Map Rank Tracker credits. Businesses with 20 or more locations can ask sales about the custom Local Business plan.
The appeal is having listings next to keyword research and site audits you may already use. The geo-grid tracker shows how your map rank changes block by block, which pairs well with the tools in our roundup of local Google Business rank tracking tools.
Limitations: every location needs its own plan, healthcare directories are limited to US locations, and competitor review reports on Pro are capped at 10 a month.
3. Yext: Best for Large Enterprise Brands
Yext built its listings product around a Knowledge Graph. Each location is stored as an entity, and you edit its facts once. Yext then pushes those facts to its publisher network, which its FAQ page puts at “200-plus publishers globally.” Publishers include search engines, maps, voice assistants, directories and social media.
Yext’s help center explains two features that matter for large brands. Duplicate suppression runs during the first sync, so Yext matches existing listings rather than creating new copies. Two-way sync with Google, Facebook and Yelp means you also get status and analytics data back from those sites.
“Yext is built for serious enterprises.” (Yext FAQ, checked November 2026)
Yext says its pricing is custom, with no single published price. Price depends on your location count, the bundle you choose and your contract length. Billing is usually annual, and multi-year deals get better rates. There is no free tier or standard trial, only a demo. Smaller businesses are sent to reseller partners.
Limitations: each location needs a Listings license before going live, Yext syncs only one listing per publisher per location, and one-way publishers return no analytics.
4. Synup: Best for Agencies That Want Every Feature on Every Plan
Synup manages listings for small businesses, multi-location brands and agencies. Its own product summary says it covers “100+ publishers and directories” across more than 50 countries.
Synup takes a simple approach to plans. It is priced per location, and the company states that “every plan includes every feature.” Annual billing saves 20%, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial that needs a card. You see your exact per-location price on its pricing page after you choose how many locations you need.
The newer part of the product is Sydekick, an AI agent that suggests fixes and can auto-correct listing drift on a schedule. Sensitive changes still need a human to approve them. Synup also includes review management, grid rank tracking, social posting, a store locator and checks on how AI answer engines describe a business. For agencies, it offers white-label options, a REST API and an MCP server.
Limitation: the free trial requires a card, so set a reminder if you are only testing it.
5. Uberall: Best for Multi-Location Brands Outside the US
Uberall Listings is built for multi-location brands and claims a network of “200+ directories.” Its page names Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and Bing, and its FAQ adds Siri, Alexa, TripAdvisor and TikTok.
Uberall uses bi-directional API connections, so data flows both ways. Its Profile Protection feature watches for edits you did not approve and syncs your data back. You can bulk edit listings, bulk verify Google profiles and upload data through a spreadsheet or the API. It also aims to leave one verified listing per location on each platform by suppressing duplicates.
Content goes beyond basic facts. You can manage photos, videos, menus, services and Google Posts from the same screen. An AI feature called AI-Listings drafts optimized profiles for new locations.
Who it suits: franchises and brands in retail, hospitality, food, automotive, healthcare, finance and EV charging. Limitation: pricing is quote-based and starts with a demo.
6. Whitespark: Best for a One-Time Cleanup With No Subscription
Whitespark does not sync data through an API. Its in-house team manually cleans up and builds listings on Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp, data aggregators and other sites. When the job ends, you get a report with every username, password, listing status and team note.
This model solves a problem subscription tools create. With most sync tools, your listings can revert or lose their protection if you cancel. Whitespark says the listings it builds are “completely independent” of automated platforms, so they stay put.
| Package (one-time, per location) | Cleanup | New listings built | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | Top 10 sites | 35 general + 7 industry/regional | $399 |
| Comprehensive | Top 15 sites | 70 general + 10 industry/regional | $599 |
| Ultimate | Top 100 sites | 10 industry/regional | $999 |
| Data Aggregator (US only) | n/a | Foursquare, Data Axle, Neustar Localeze | $99 |
Volume discounts start at 5% for orders of $1,000 and reach 20% at $5,000. The report is unbranded, which suits agencies that resell the work.
Limitations: Whitespark does not guarantee live listings and says about 30% of submissions are usually live when the report arrives. Projects take 4 to 6 weeks after intake. Cleanup and build packages are only offered in 15 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.
7. Vendasta Listing Sync Pro: Best for Agencies Reselling Listings
Vendasta is a platform for agencies and resellers that sell software and services to local businesses. Listing Sync Pro is its listings product, and it covers more than 50 listing sites. A Yext-powered version covers more than 70 and can be sold fully white-labeled under the agency’s brand.
The feature list is aimed at protecting client data. Listing Sync Pro pushes changes in real time, re-applies correct data if a third party edits a listing, manages duplicates and allows unlimited updates. It also syncs business details to built-in car navigation systems, which few small-business tools mention.
Vendasta advertises “competitive wholesale pricing” for the Yext-powered option, which tells you the model. You buy at a wholesale rate and set your own retail price for clients.
Limitations: Listing Sync Pro works in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy only. The Yext-powered version is US only.
8. SOCi: Best for Brands That Want AI Agents to Fix Listings
SOCi targets brands with many locations. Its listings page puts the case plainly: “At 50+ locations, manual listings management breaks.” The platform syncs to Google, Apple, Meta, Yelp “and hundreds more” and says it is built for thousands of locations.
SOCi’s angle is automation. AI agents monitor listings around the clock and are designed to fix errors, not just flag them. A feature called SOCi Shield enforces brand and regulatory rules, which matters for franchises in finance or healthcare. Reviews and social media live in the same platform.
SOCi reports a 192% three-year ROI from a Forrester Total Economic Impact study and says it manages 3.7 million business locations. Treat these as vendor-reported figures.
Limitation: there is no public price, so the only path is a demo.
9. Forsta Listings Management (Rio SEO): Best for Enterprise Retail and Restaurants
Rio SEO’s listings product is now presented as Listings Management by Forsta, part of its Brand Experience suite. The page still links to a Rio SEO login. It promises to “sync across 200+ directories, apps, and platforms where people regularly search for you.”
The workflow follows a clear order. The team first claims and verifies your profiles on Google, Bing and Apple. Data then flows from your own database or a central DataManager tool. Accuracy scores show the gap between your internal records and what the public sees, and dashboards track accuracy and conversions.
Who it suits: large brands in retail, restaurants, hotels and financial services. Limitations: Forsta sends updates to partners daily, but each site refreshes at its own pace, so changes can take a few weeks to appear. Pricing is only available by speaking with an expert.
10. Birdeye: Best for Teams Already Running Reviews in Birdeye
Birdeye is best known for review management, and its listings tool works from the same Birdeye business profile. The most useful part is the Listings Verifier. It gives a field-by-field comparison of your data on core sites such as Google, Facebook, Bing and Apple, and marks each field as a match or mismatch.
When Birdeye has the right data and a site does not, a Sync Now button pushes the correct details. You can download, email or schedule the verifier report, and open a support ticket from the same screen.
This is handy if your team already answers reviews in Birdeye, since reviews and listings stay in one place. Reviews matter a lot here, as our review statistics for local businesses show.
Limitations: the verifier runs once a month and up to 14 days after a profile edit, so it is not real-time. Synced fields can still show as mismatches until sites process them. If a listing site holds wrong data, you must edit that listing yourself.
Subscription Sync vs One-Time Citation Building
The biggest choice is not which brand to buy. It is whether you need ongoing sync or a one-time fix. The chart below compares the first-year cost for one location.
A Whitespark Premium build costs $399 once. BrightLocal Manage costs $485 in year one on annual billing, and Semrush Local Pro costs $720 if you pay monthly for 12 months. From year two onward, Whitespark costs nothing unless you buy its $2-per-listing refresh service, while the subscriptions keep billing.
So why pay monthly? Sync tools watch for changes and push your data back if someone edits a listing. They also make it easy to update holiday hours or a new phone number everywhere at once. If your details rarely change, a one-time build is often enough. If you open new locations, change hours often or have had listings hijacked before, a subscription earns its cost.
A good middle path is to build your core listings once, then use a cheaper tool to monitor them. Start with the most trusted sites on our list of high domain authority business listing sites, and add the UK business citation directories if you trade in Britain.
How to Pick the Right Tool for Your Business
Match the tool to your size and how often your data changes. Use this as a starting point.
| Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 location, tight budget | BrightLocal Manage (yearly) or a Whitespark build | Lowest published cost for sync, or no recurring fee at all |
| 1 to 20 locations, already on Semrush | Semrush Local Pro | Listings sit next to your keyword and audit data |
| Agency with many small clients | Synup, Vendasta or BrightLocal | White-label, reseller pricing or multi-client reporting |
| 50+ locations, one brand | SOCi or Uberall | Built for bulk edits, duplicates and brand rules |
| Hundreds of locations, enterprise contract | Yext or Forsta | 200+ publisher networks and account management |
| Reviews are your main focus | Birdeye | Listings and reviews share one profile |
Also check a few things in any demo or trial. Ask whether your listings stay live if you cancel. Ask which sites use two-way sync and which only receive submissions. Ask how duplicates are handled. Industry matters too: doctors and dentists should weigh healthcare directories, which we cover in our guide to local SEO software for doctors.
Finally, remember that listings are only one ranking signal. Our breakdown of local SEO ranking factors shows how they sit alongside reviews, relevance and proximity.
FAQ
What Is Business Listing Management Software?
It is a tool that stores your business name, address, phone number, hours and other details in one place and sends them to search engines, maps, directories and apps. Most tools also watch for wrong or duplicate listings and push correct data back.
Is Yext Worth It for a Small Business?
Usually not directly. Yext says its pricing is custom, billed annually and built for serious enterprises. It points smaller businesses to reseller partners, and agencies such as those on Vendasta can sell Yext-powered listings in the US.
What Happens to My Listings if I Cancel a Subscription?
It depends on the tool, so ask before you sign. Whitespark avoids the issue by building listings by hand and giving you the logins. With sync tools, ongoing protection and automatic updates stop when the subscription ends.
How Long Does It Take for Listing Updates to Show?
Google and other two-way sync partners can update fast, but smaller sites refresh at their own pace. Forsta says changes can take a few weeks. Whitespark says manual projects take 4 to 6 weeks after intake.
Can I Manage Business Listings for Free?
You can claim and edit Google, Apple, Bing and Facebook profiles yourself at no cost. Paid tools save time once you have several locations or dozens of directories to watch. Our list of free SEO tools includes options that help with the manual route.
My Recommendation
If you run one to five locations, buy BrightLocal Manage on annual billing. At $40 a month for one location, it is the cheapest published sync plan I found, and it adds reviews and rank tracking you will use anyway. If your listings are a mess today, pay for a Whitespark Premium build first so the cleanup is done by hand, then let BrightLocal keep it accurate.
If you manage more than 50 locations, skip the self-serve tools and book demos with Uberall and SOCi, then ask Yext for a quote to compare. Get each vendor to show your real duplicate count and the sites that use two-way sync before you sign a multi-year deal.
