AIApply is an AI job search tool. It finds roles, writes a resume and cover letter for each job, applies for you and even helps during live interviews. The AIApply homepage claims more than 2 million users, 372,241+ roles applied to and 655,308 interviews landed. It also says 76% of users get an interview in their first 10 days.
I go through AIApply step by step: the free plan, the resume builder, the Auto Apply queue, mock interviews and the Interview Buddy desktop app. I also read the help center, the terms and the refund rules. Then I read over a hundred user reviews to see what happens after the first payment.
The short version: AIApply saves real time on applications and has a strong set of tools. It also has billing traps, a weak refund policy and features that carry real risk with employers and LinkedIn.

What Is AIApply?
AIApply is run by AIApply Ltd, a UK company (number 15200716) set up on October 10, 2023, with its registered office in Leicester. Aidan Cramer is the CEO and co founder. Before AIApply, Cramer co founded PetVet.ai. The team is small, with about 11 to 50 staff. It raises one seed round in its first months.
AIApply first gets attention in March 2024, when Cramer posts a TikTok of his AI clone taking a Zoom interview. The video passes 900,000 views. That stunt still shapes the product. Interview Buddy is a live interview helper built to stay hidden during screen sharing.
AIApply Pricing Explained
AIApply sells each tool as its own plan. That is the key point for any budget. Premium, Auto Apply and Interview Buddy bill on separate cycles, and each one needs its own cancellation.
AIApply Plans in 2026
| Plan | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Job board, saved jobs, up to 2 mock interviews, limited cover letters |
| Premium | $29 a month or $144 a year | Resume builder, cover letters, Application Kit, unlimited mock interviews |
| Auto Apply 100 | $49 a month | 100 jobs |
| Auto Apply 250 | $99 a month | 250 jobs |
| Auto Apply quarterly | $199 a quarter | Up to 750 jobs over 3 months |
| Job specific resume add on | $12 a month | A matched resume for each Auto Apply job |
| Job specific cover letter add on | $12 a month | A matched cover letter for each Auto Apply job |
| Interview Buddy | $19 a month or $99 a year | Live answer help during interviews |
| Search Only | $12 a month | Job matches and dashboard, zero new credits |
- Auto Apply 100 with both add ons costs $73 a month.
- Bigger credit packs cost $199 for 600, $299 for 1,000 and $499 for 2,000 jobs.
- Students get 40% off premium features with a student email.
- Weekly prices on the website are examples only; the web sells monthly, quarterly and yearly plans.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, and cancel each plan on its own.
- Unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed and vanish when you cancel.
My take on pricing: the Premium yearly plan at $144 is fair value for the resume and cover letter tools. Auto Apply gets expensive fast once add ons stack up. Write down every renewal date on day one.
How AIApply Auto Apply Works
Auto Apply is the main reason people pay. Setup takes about ten minutes.
- Upload a resume or import your LinkedIn profile.
- Fill in job titles, locations, salary range and work type.
- Build the Answer Library, the set of answers AIApply uses for form questions.
- Pick a daily cap from 10 to 100 jobs.
- Choose a mode: Auto, Hybrid or Review.
- Start the queue and track each application in the dashboard.
The three modes are the best part of the design. Auto sends every match with zero approval. Hybrid sends jobs with a fit score of 75 or more and holds the rest for you. Review asks you to approve every job, and the reasons you give for declining train the matching over time.
A few details matter. AIApply sends applications from its own inbox, fixed by AIApply. It creates accounts on employer portals for you and stores the logins in your dashboard. You see a matched resume only after it goes out, so Review mode is the safe choice for roles you care about. Each successful submission costs one credit, and failed ones are free.
Auto Apply skips internships and any portal that needs a login code outside its reach. AIApply also shares zero list of the job sites it covers. That makes coverage hard to judge before paying.
AIApply Resume Builder and Cover Letters
The resume builder takes your old resume or LinkedIn profile. It rewrites it for each job you target. It uses ATS friendly layouts, flags missing keywords and exports to common file types. The Application Kit packs a matched resume, cover letter and answers for one job into a single click.
The cover letter tool writes a letter in seconds from the job ad and your profile. The resume translator handles 50+ languages, handy for people applying abroad. Output still needs a human read. Some users report made up skills, and one gets a cover letter in the wrong language. Check every draft before it goes out.
AIApply Mock Interviews and Interview Buddy
Mock interviews ask role based questions and give instant feedback on each answer. Free users get two sessions, and Premium opens unlimited practice. This is the least risky and most useful part of the interview tools.
Interview Buddy is a different thing. The Windows and Mac app listens to a live Zoom, Meet or Teams call. It shows answers on screen, built from your resume and the job ad. AIApply markets it as able to stay hidden during screen sharing. The iOS app rates 4.8 from 348 ratings.
Employers push back hard on tools like this one. In one 2025 survey of 4,136 hiring staff, 65% of hiring managers catch candidates using AI in deceptive ways. Google, Cisco and McKinsey bring back in person rounds, and Amazon bars AI help in interviews unless it gives permission. Using Interview Buddy in a real interview puts an offer at risk if the employer finds out.
Free Tools, Job Board and Apps
- A job board with 20M+ listings that pulls from thousands of sources each day.
- 40+ free tools, including an ATS resume checker, resume match tool, follow up email writer, cover letter checker, interview question generator and salary calculator.
- Resume and cover letter examples by job title.
- Career, skills and salary guides.
- An iPhone app, launched in August 2026, and a Chrome extension.
- White label and coach plans for career coaches and businesses.
The free tools are worth a visit even for people who skip the paid plans. The ATS checker and the interview question generator give quick wins at zero cost.
AIApply Privacy and Account Risks
- AIApply stores resumes, mailbox messages and Interview Buddy transcripts.
- Data runs through Azure in the US, Migadu in Switzerland and France, and AnyIP in Singapore for routing applications.
- Mailbox data is deleted three months after a paid plan ends.
- AIApply says it keeps user data off the market. I found zero outside security audit.
- LinkedIn bans bots and automated tools in its user agreement, and accounts that use them risk limits or bans.
- US users agree to private arbitration and give up class action rights under English law terms.
AIApply Feature Ratings
I score each part of AIApply out of 10. The final score is the average of these ten scores.
Auto Apply: 7.5/10
Three modes, daily caps and fit scores give real control. The fixed AIApply inbox, hidden job source list and post send resume checks hold the score back.
Resume builder: 7.5/10
Fast, ATS aware and easy to use, with LinkedIn import. Output needs checks for invented skills.
Cover letters: 7.0/10
Quick drafts that match the job ad. Some users get generic or wrong language letters.
Mock interviews: 8.0/10
Role based questions, instant feedback and unlimited practice on Premium. A safe and useful tool.
Interview Buddy: 5.0/10
Works with Zoom, Meet and Teams and rates well on iOS. The ethical and hiring risk is high.
Free tools: 8.5/10
40+ free tools and a large job board give real value at zero cost.
Ease of use: 8.0/10
Clean screens and a simple setup flow, as most reviews confirm.
Value for money: 6.0/10
Premium yearly is fair, but stacked plans and add ons push the bill past $100 a month.
Billing and refunds: 3.5/10
Separate renewals, strict refund rules and many charge complaints.
Support: 5.0/10
Fast replies on Trustpilot, but an F on the BBB for unanswered complaints.
Final AIApply rating: 6.6 out of 10.
AIApply Pros
Real Time Savings
AIApply cuts hours of form filling. One Reddit user applies to 1,283 jobs in 78 days and lands a role. That is close to impossible by hand.
Three Levels of Control
Auto, Hybrid and Review modes let you choose between full speed and full control, job by job.
Strong Free Tools
The ATS checker, interview question generator and salary calculator help any job seeker for free.
Useful Mock Interviews
Unlimited role based practice with instant feedback builds confidence before the real thing.
Wide Language Support
The resume translator covers 50+ languages, a plus for cross border job hunts.
Clean Interface
Most reviews praise the simple setup, even from users who call themselves new to tech.
AIApply Cons
Stacked Subscriptions
Premium, Auto Apply, add ons and Interview Buddy each bill on their own. A full setup passes $100 a month, and the iOS app bills apart from the web.
Strict Refund Policy
Refunds apply only to verified tech failures or accidental buys reported within 30 minutes. Sent applications and renewals stay final.
Weak Job Matching for Some Users
One reviewer reports about 200 of 270 matches as off target, and another sends 200+ jobs with zero interviews.
AI Output Errors
Users report invented skills, generic letters and a cover letter in the wrong language.
Employer and LinkedIn Risk
Mass applying and hidden interview help clash with LinkedIn rules and with employer policies.
Trust Flags on Reviews
Trustpilot hides the AIApply rating in mid 2026 for misleading use of Trustpilot content, and the BBB gives an F rating.
AIApply Limitations
- Auto Apply skips internships and portals that ask for login codes.
- Applications go out from an AIApply inbox that users have zero control over.
- You see a matched resume only after it is sent.
- AIApply publishes zero list of supported job sites or ATS platforms.
- The free plan has zero Auto Apply and zero resume builder.
- Unused credits disappear when you cancel.
- Pausing the queue keeps billing running.
- Homepage numbers, such as the 76% interview rate, come with zero method and change over time.
AIApply User Reviews and Ratings
I read reviews across Trustpilot, the BBB, the App Store and Reddit. The pattern is clear: people who use AIApply for speed love it, and people who hit a billing problem hate it.
- Trustpilot: 4.3 out of 5 from 2,068 reviews, with 66% five star and 11% one star. AIApply invites reviews, and Trustpilot adds an integrity notice in 2026.
- BBB: F rating and zero accreditation, with reviews that average 1 star.
- App Store (Interview Buddy): 4.8 out of 5 from 348 ratings.
- App Store (main app): between 3.0 and 4.8, depending on the listing date.
- Reddit: mixed. One user gets an offer after 1,283 jobs, while other threads call it a waste of money.
What Users Praise
Happy users talk about time saved, fast job files from the Application Kit and an easy setup. Many report interview invites within the first week. One user lands a $70K role in Beverly Hills a month after applying through AIApply, and another gets hired by Truist bank.
What Users Criticize
Unhappy users report charges after they cancel. They also report weekly prices that bill monthly and refund requests turned down. Others mention off target jobs, made up resume details and a support chat that stops working when they try to cancel.
Best AIApply Alternatives
I compare each option on price, control, output and trust. Pick by how much automation you want.
Simplify: Best Free Autofill Alternative
Simplify fills job forms for you with a free browser extension, but you press Submit yourself. That one step keeps every application under your control and avoids bot flags. Simplify+ costs about $39.99 a month for AI resume edits. It has one of the best review records in this field. It fits careful job seekers who want speed with zero risk to their name.
LoopCV: Best Budget Auto Apply Tool
LoopCV applies to jobs on a loop and also emails recruiters directly. A free plan gives 10 jobs a month, and paid plans run about $9.99 to $19.99 a month for 100 to 300 jobs. LoopCV costs far less than AIApply Auto Apply. It fits job seekers who want automation on a tight budget.
Sonara: Best Hands Off Auto Apply
Sonara finds and applies to jobs with almost zero input once your profile is set. A 14 day trial costs $2.95, then $23.95 every four weeks or $71.40 a year. Sonara is cheaper than AIApply, but it shares less about which job boards it covers. It fits people who want a set and forget tool.
LazyApply: Best for Maximum Volume
LazyApply is a Chrome extension built to send as many applications as possible, up to 1,500 a day on its top plan. Plans cost $99, $149 or $999 a year, with zero monthly option. Its Trustpilot score sits at 2.4, far below AIApply. It fits only users who value volume over quality.
JobCopilot: Best for Company Career Sites
JobCopilot applies directly on company career pages, about 20 to 50 jobs a day. It costs about $38.60 a month with zero free tier. Applying on company sites over job boards avoids some LinkedIn rule risks. It fits users who target specific employers.
Final Round AI: Best Interview Buddy Alternative
Final Round AI focuses on interview help, with mock interviews and a live interview copilot. Plans cost $150 a month, $250 a quarter or $300 a year, far more than Interview Buddy at $19 a month. It carries the same employer risk in live use. It fits people who want deep interview practice.
Teal: Best Job Tracker and Resume Builder
Teal pairs a free job tracker with a resume builder and keyword matching. Teal+ costs $29 a month. Teal skips auto apply on purpose, so every application stays in your hands. It fits organized job seekers who apply to fewer, better matched roles.
Jobscan: Best for ATS Resume Matching
Jobscan compares your resume with a job ad and scores the keyword match. It costs $49.95 a month. It does one job very well. It fits people who apply by hand and want each resume to pass the first filter.
Careerflow: Best for LinkedIn Profiles
Careerflow offers a LinkedIn profile review tool, autofill and a job tracker, with a free tier. Paid plans run $23.99 a month or $149 to $172.99 a year. It fits job seekers who want recruiters to find them as well as to apply.
Jobright.ai: Best AI Job Matching in the US
Jobright.ai matches you to roles across 8M+ US listings, finds referral contacts and filters for H1B sponsors. A free tier is available, and Turbo costs about $39.99 a month. Some users report billing issues and invented skills, the same pain points as AIApply. It fits US job seekers and visa holders.
Kickresume and Rezi: Best Resume Builders
Kickresume costs $24 a month or $96 a year, and Rezi costs $29 a month or $149 for life. Both build strong ATS resumes and cover letters with zero auto apply. Rezi lifetime pricing beats any AIApply subscription for people who only need documents.
Final Verdict on AIApply
AIApply is a solid job search tool. It has strong free tools, useful mock interviews and an Auto Apply queue with three modes. For job seekers who need volume and use Review or Hybrid mode, it saves a lot of time.
The weak spots are money and trust. Separate subscriptions, strict refunds, a BBB F rating and a Trustpilot integrity notice call for care. Interview Buddy carries real hiring risk. Start with the free tools and Premium, add Auto Apply only with Review or Hybrid mode, and set reminders for every renewal. My final score is 6.6 out of 10.
