5/5 - (7 votes)

The best ecommerce SEO companies in Los Angeles are Coalition Technologies, Storm Brain, gr0, Thrive, WebFX, Wpromote, Website Depot and Amazon Growth Lab. Each one has an office in greater Los Angeles. Also, each one sells SEO for online stores, whether on Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce or Amazon.

We screened more than 60 agencies that Clutch, Semrush and local roundups list under Los Angeles. Then we opened each likely agency’s own site and its Clutch profile. Many firms rank for LA terms but are fully remote or list only a city name. So they are not here.

Addresses come from each agency’s own site, its Clutch profile or its BigCommerce listing. “Not used” means we did not open a Clutch page with at least five reviews for that firm.

Our Method for Vetting LA Store SEO Firms

First, we built a long list from Clutch, Semrush and several published LA rankings. Next, we checked each agency for a street address inside Los Angeles County. Downtown, Santa Monica, Culver City, Silver Lake and El Segundo all count.

Then we looked for a real store SEO offer. For example, we wanted a Shopify SEO page, an ecommerce SEO page, an Amazon listing service or a platform partner listing that names SEO. A general SEO page with no store focus was not enough.

Finally, we pulled ratings only from Clutch profiles we opened. We left out any rating built on fewer than five reviews. In fact, one well-known firm that ranks for LA terms describes itself as fully remote, so it is not here.

What a Store Needs That a Service Business Does Not

Ecommerce SEO is a different job from local SEO for a law firm or a dentist. A store may have 5,000 product pages, filters that create endless URLs and products that sell out each week. So the agency must handle crawl control, product schema and category pages at scale.

Also, stores live or die on product data. Google Merchant Center feeds, product titles and review stars all shape what shoppers see. AI shopping answers in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews now read the same data. That is why we gave extra weight to agencies that talk about feeds, catalog structure and product pages, as Coalition and Storm Brain do.

Before you call anyone, read our ecommerce SEO statistics for traffic and revenue benchmarks. Then run some keyword research on your top categories, so you can judge each agency’s ideas.

Eight Best Ecommerce Store Agencies in Greater Los Angeles

We open the list with the Shopify specialists and close it with the marketplace experts. So jump to the group that matches your store.

Coalition Technologies: Shopify SEO From Downtown LA

Coalition Technologies lists its headquarters at 515 Flower Street, 18th Floor, in Downtown Los Angeles. It also has a small office in Austin. The firm was founded in 2009 and has been a Shopify partner since September 2011.

Its Shopify SEO page covers the store basics. These include title and URL fixes, internal links, site architecture, and category and product page layouts based on heatmaps. Besides that, the team optimizes Google Merchant Center feeds and helps stores gather product reviews. The page also targets AI Overviews and ChatGPT.

Also, Coalition’s Shopify Partner Directory listing shows SEO from $1,800 and store builds from $5,000 to $100,000. On Clutch, Coalition holds a 4.8 rating from 167 reviews, with a $1,000+ minimum and $50 to $99 an hour. In one case study, Coalition says SEO and PPC lifted Rainbow Symphony’s organic sessions by 371%.

With more than 200 staff in LA, Coalition can handle large catalogs. However, a small store should ask who will run the account each week.

Storm Brain: AI Shopping Search for Shopify Catalogs

Storm Brain runs its LA office at 2450 Colorado Avenue, Suite 200, in Santa Monica. Its head office is in Carlsbad, and it also has offices in San Diego, New York, Austin and Miami. The agency was founded in 2007.

Storm Brain sells a Shopify service built for AI search and AI shopping tools. First, the team studies how AI systems read your product data, variants and collections. Next, it cleans up variant structure, product attributes and internal links. After that, it rewrites product pages with features, use cases, FAQs and specs. Finally, it tracks whether your products appear in AI shopping answers and comparisons.

On Clutch, Storm Brain holds a 5.0 rating from 126 reviews. Its minimum project is $10,000+, at $150 to $199 an hour. Shopify SEO makes up 60% of its SEO focus. So it makes sense for a mid-size Shopify brand with a large catalog and a real budget.

gr0: SEO for Direct-to-Consumer Brands

gr0 is a Los Angeles agency founded in 2020 by Kevin Miller and Jonathan Zacharias. Also, its Clutch profile lists the office at 12511 Beatrice Street, near Playa Vista. The team works in a hybrid model.

gr0 builds its SEO service for ecommerce and DTC brands. The work covers technical SEO, content, link building and strategy calls. Also, it runs separate Amazon and Marketplace and TikTok Shop services, plus GEO work and its own Axon data platform. gr0 says it has produced more than 125 million words of SEO content.

On Clutch, gr0 holds a 4.9 rating from 46 reviews, with a $5,000+ minimum. It does not post prices. Still, it may appeal to a growing DTC brand that wants content at volume plus help on Amazon and TikTok Shop.

Thrive: Ecommerce SEO With No Long-Term Contract

Thrive ecommerce SEO services page

Thrive has run since 2005. Its Los Angeles office is on the 36th floor at 515 South Flower Street. The firm runs offices in many US cities, so LA is one branch of a national team.

Thrive’s ecommerce SEO page names Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Magento. The work covers purchase-intent keywords, schema, site speed, product page fixes, product descriptions and AI SEO. Besides that, Thrive sells Amazon SEO, Walmart Marketplace and Target Plus services, plus conversion testing.

Thrive offers packages from $500 a month and does not lock clients into long-term contracts. As a result, it carries low risk for a small store that wants to test SEO for a few months. Ask how much of a $500 package goes to store SEO work.

WebFX: Published SEO Plans From the Arts District

WebFX Los Angeles SEO services page with pricing plans
Screenshot: webfx.com

WebFX lists a Los Angeles office at 777 South Alameda Street. Besides that, its LA SEO page links to an SEO for Amazon service, Amazon ad management and ecommerce website design.

In fact, WebFX is one of the few firms here that publishes full SEO prices. Plans run on a six-month commitment. Silver costs $2,900 a month, Silver Plus $4,200, Gold $6,150, Platinum $7,400 and Diamond $9,200. The plans include product page and category page content items.

So WebFX makes budgeting clear for a store owner who wants a fixed fee. However, its LA page does not mention Shopify by name. Ask how the team handles your platform before you sign.

Wpromote: SEO for Larger BigCommerce Brands

Wpromote was founded in 2001 by Michael Mothner. Today, its headquarters sits at 2100 East Grand Avenue in El Segundo, near LAX. Also, the firm runs six US offices.

Wpromote lists SEO, paid media, conversion work, development and email in the BigCommerce partner directory. It also bought ecommerce agency Visiture in 2021 and DTC agency Metric Digital in 2020. So its team has deep store experience.

However, Wpromote’s Clutch profile shows a $250,000+ minimum project. That points to large brands with big budgets. Smaller stores will find a better match elsewhere on this list.

Website Depot: Fashion and Store SEO in Silver Lake

Website Depot ecommerce web design and SEO services page
Screenshot: websitedepot.com

Website Depot lists its office at 4343 West Sunset Boulevard, Suite 201, in Silver Lake. Also, its Clutch profile shows a founding year of 2012 and a team of 50 to 249.

Website Depot’s ecommerce page lists ecommerce SEO next to store design and development. It also runs a fashion ecommerce SEO page. So a fashion or apparel brand that needs a new store and SEO from one team could call here first.

On Clutch, Website Depot holds a 5.0 rating from 17 reviews, with a $1,000+ minimum. Still, its ecommerce page does not list SEO deliverables yet. Ask for a written plan for product and category pages.

Amazon Growth Lab: Listing SEO From Culver City

Amazon Growth Lab works from 9696 Culver Boulevard in Culver City. It was founded in 2012, and it now has 50 to 249 staff. Also, its Clutch profile lists a service called Listing Optimization and Amazon GEO plus SEO.

In fact, Amazon SEO makes up 65% of its SEO focus, and generative engine optimization makes up the rest. The agency also runs Amazon ads and creative work. On Clutch, it holds a 4.9 rating from 50 reviews, with a $10,000+ minimum and $100 to $149 an hour.

So Amazon Growth Lab is the one to call if Amazon drives most of your sales. However, ask whether it also works on your own Shopify or BigCommerce site, because its focus is the marketplace.

Starting Prices LA Agencies Publish

Chart of the lowest published monthly SEO price at three Los Angeles agencies

In fact, only three agencies on our list publish a monthly starting price. Thrive starts at $500, Coalition at $1,800 and WebFX at $2,900. The rest quote after an audit or a call.

But the cheapest plan is not always the cheapest result. For example, a $500 package may cover a few pages a month, while a store with 2,000 products needs template-level fixes. So ask each agency how many product and category pages its plan covers.

Clutch Review Counts for LA Ecommerce SEO Firms

Chart of Clutch review counts and ratings for five Los Angeles ecommerce SEO agencies

Coalition has the most Clutch reviews of the firms we checked, with 167. Next comes Storm Brain with 126, then Amazon Growth Lab with 50 and gr0 with 46. All five firms in the chart rate 4.8 or higher.

Still, review counts favor older and larger firms. So read the reviews from stores your size, and look for ones that name SEO work.

Ten Questions to Ask an LA Ecommerce SEO Agency

  1. Which store platforms have you worked on in the past year? Ask for two live client stores.
  2. How will you handle filter and sort URLs on my category pages?
  3. Will you fix product templates, or only single pages?
  4. Who manages my Google Merchant Center feed, and how often is it checked?
  5. Which product schema fields will you add or fix?
  6. How will you report revenue from organic search, not just traffic?
  7. What happens to SEO during a sale, a launch or a stock-out?
  8. How do you track my products in AI shopping answers?
  9. What is the minimum term, and what is the notice period?
  10. Can I meet the team at your LA office before I sign?

Then score each answer. A firm that names exact tasks and a reporting plan is safer than one that only promises rankings. Also, check your own baseline first with our guide to ecommerce search engines and our ecommerce conversion rate statistics.

Store Owner Questions About Ecommerce SEO in Los Angeles

How much does ecommerce SEO cost in Los Angeles?

Published entry prices on our list run from $500 a month at Thrive to $2,900 a month at WebFX. Coalition’s Shopify listing shows SEO from $1,800. However, Wpromote’s Clutch minimum is $250,000+, so large brands should expect far higher fees.

Which LA agency is best for Shopify SEO?

For a large Shopify catalog, we would call Storm Brain or Coalition first. Storm Brain focuses on catalog data for AI shopping tools. Coalition adds feed work and has been a Shopify partner since 2011.

Do I need an agency based in Los Angeles?

No, because store SEO happens online. Still, a local team helps with photo shoots, launch planning and in-person workshops. It also makes reference checks easier.

How long does ecommerce SEO take to show results?

Timelines vary with site size, catalog size and competition. In fact, none of the agencies on our list promises a date. So ask each one for a month-by-month plan with clear checkpoints.

Can one agency handle both Amazon and my own store?

Yes. For example, gr0, Thrive and WebFX all list Amazon services next to site SEO. On the other hand, Amazon Growth Lab focuses on the marketplace itself. Our Shopify statistics show where Shopify stores win sales, so you can split your budget.
