SEOWriting.ai Review: Best SEO Writer For Google & ChatGPT Rankings?

5/5 - (5 votes)

SEOWriting.ai makes a big promise on its homepage: rank in Google and get cited in ChatGPT, from one click. Almost every AI writer makes that claim now, so I wanted to see how much of it holds up once you look past the homepage at the plans, the credit rules, the features and what Google actually rewards.

Short answer: it’s one of the quickest routes from a keyword to a formatted, published draft. It is not a ranking machine. The tool handles structure, headings, images and publishing very well. It can’t supply the things that usually decide rankings today, like first-hand experience, original data and a site people already trust.

Quick verdict
Best forBloggers, affiliate sites and small agencies publishing on WordPress
Not ideal forBrands that need expert, experience-heavy content with little editing
Starting price$19/month, or $14/month billed yearly
Free plan3 articles, no card needed
Biggest strengthKeyword-to-published-post in one flow, including bulk runs of up to 100
Biggest catchCredits run out much faster if you pick the premium AI models
My rating7.5/10

Below I’ll walk through how I tested it, what each feature actually does, what the pricing really works out to, and whether it deserves a place in your content workflow.

What Is SEOWriting.ai?

SEOWriting.ai is an AI article generator built around one job: turning a keyword into a complete blog post and pushing it to your website. You pick a keyword, set a few options, and it returns a formatted article with headings, meta title, meta description, image alt text and AI images.

It doesn’t run on one AI model of its own. According to its site, it uses models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and DeepSeek, combined with live search results pulled at the time you generate. You choose the model per article, and that choice affects your credit usage (more on that in the pricing section, because it matters a lot).

The company says more than 50,000 users are on the platform. It supports 50+ languages, has a WordPress plugin, a Shopify app and, more recently, a WordPress MCP server that lets AI assistants publish through it.

What it isn’t: a keyword research suite. There is no Ahrefs-style keyword database or rank tracker inside. You bring the keywords, and it does the writing and publishing.

How I Evaluated SEOWriting.ai

Most reviews of this tool stop at “I typed a keyword and got an article”. That tells you nothing about rankings. So I looked at it through the two things the headline promises: Google visibility and citations inside AI answers.

Here’s what I checked, and why each point matters.

What I checkedWhy it matters
Every plan, credit rule and feature limit on the official pricing pageThe advertised article counts don’t match what you get on premium models
The full workflow, from keyword to scheduled postSpeed and publishing are the tool’s main selling points
Which features are paid-onlyDecides whether the free plan is a fair preview
How the output lines up with Google’s rules on AI and scaled contentDecides whether bulk publishing helps or hurts you
What AI search tools need before they cite a pageTests the “get cited in ChatGPT” claim
How it compares with Koala AI, Surfer, Frase and plain ChatGPTShows who should pick something else

I then judged the output on the things that decide results: factual accuracy, how far it goes beyond what already ranks, readability, and how much editing it needs before a post is worth putting your name on.

One honest note on method. Ranking results depend heavily on the site you publish to. A new site and a five-year-old site with backlinks will get very different outcomes from the exact same article. Keep that in mind when you read any review’s ranking claims, including mine.

How SEOWriting.ai Works

The whole process runs in six steps, and five of them are automated. Once your WordPress site is connected, the only step you have to do by hand is the edit.

Skipping step 5 is tempting, because the draft already looks finished. It’s also the step that decides whether a post ranks or just sits in the index.

The Features, One by One

1-Click Blog Post

This is the core of the product. Despite the name, it’s really four or five clicks: keyword, title (it can suggest one), language, article size, tone, images on or off, and where to publish. Then you hit Run.

Articles can go up to about 5,200 words on the Large setting. A typical draft comes with an intro, H2 and H3 sections, tables where they fit, an FAQ block, AI images and filled-in meta tags. The formatting lands in WordPress clean, which is a real step up from pasting chatbot output into the editor.

Where it falls short: because the outline is built from pages that already rank, drafts tend to cover the same ground as those pages. Intros often just restate the keyword, and facts, prices and dates need checking before you publish.

Real-Time SERP Analysis

Before writing, the tool looks at pages currently ranking for your keyword and uses them to shape the outline. This is the feature that separates it from a plain chatbot. It’s also only on paid plans. The free plan doesn’t include it, which means your free test articles are not a fair preview of what you’d be paying for.

Bulk Generation

You can queue up to 100 articles in one batch and schedule them to publish at set dates. For anyone launching a new niche site or filling a content calendar, this saves real hours.

It’s also where most people get into trouble. Publishing 100 lightly edited AI posts at once is exactly the pattern Google’s scaled content abuse policy targets. I’d use bulk to create drafts, not to publish straight to live.

AI Editor and Content Score

The editor lets you rewrite sections, insert media and ask the AI for changes in place. The Content Score grades how well the draft covers the terms and topics found in the ranking pages. It’s useful as a checklist. Chasing a perfect 100, though, tends to produce keyword-stuffed text, so treat a strong score as the goal rather than a perfect one.

Brand Voice

You describe or paste a sample of your writing style once, and future articles follow it. Starter gets one voice, Professional gets five. Style settings like this handle tone and sentence length well. Your pet phrases, strong opinions and inside knowledge still have to come from you.

Humanizer and Rewriter

The Humanize Text tool rewrites stiff AI phrasing into something more natural. It helps with rhythm and word choice. It doesn’t add what readers actually notice is missing from AI content: your own examples, opinions and experience. You still have to write those parts yourself.

Internal and External Linking

Automatic internal linking to your existing posts is a genuinely useful SEO feature. It’s only available from the Professional plan ($79/month) upward. Starter users have to add links by hand.

WordPress, Shopify and MCP

The WordPress connection works through an official plugin rated 4.9 on WordPress.org. Posts arrive with featured images, meta title and description filled in. There’s also a Shopify app, plus a WordPress MCP server so assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can create and publish posts through your account.

Amazon Affiliate Tools

Paste product URLs or ASINs and it builds product blocks with specs, pros, cons and a short review. Handy for roundup posts. Just remember it’s describing products it has never held, so add real testing notes or photos if you want the post to stand out.

Can SEOWriting.ai Articles Rank on Google?

They can, but the tool isn’t the reason they rank. That distinction is the whole review in one sentence.

Google has said many times that it doesn’t penalize content for being AI-written. What it does penalize is unhelpful content made mainly for search engines, and publishing lots of pages at scale with little added value. SEOWriting.ai does nothing to stop you from doing the second one. Its bulk feature almost invites it.

Results also depend heavily on the site you publish to. A strong article on a brand-new domain will usually lose to an average one on a site Google already trusts.

Here’s the pattern most people can expect:

SituationLikely result with lightly edited output
Low-competition, long-tail keyword on an established siteDecent chance of page-one positions within weeks
Medium-competition keyword on an established siteIndexed and ranking, usually below the pages with original insight
Any competitive keyword on a new siteLittle to no traffic, regardless of the article’s quality
Dozens of bulk posts published at once on a new siteRisk of slow indexing or a sitewide quality problem

What actually moves the needle isn’t the Content Score. It’s the editing afterward: your own screenshots, a comparison you actually ran, prices checked on the day, a tip that only comes from experience. Those are the parts a SERP-trained model can’t produce, because by definition it only knows what already ranks.

So think of SEOWriting.ai as a very fast first draft plus a publishing pipeline. The ranking work is still yours.

What About ChatGPT and AI Search?

The homepage says the content is optimized for traditional search and for AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI. I wanted to see what that means in practice.

In the output, “AI-ready” mostly shows up as structure: short answer-style paragraphs under question headings, FAQ blocks, tables and clear definitions. That’s sensible. AI search tools pull clean, self-contained passages more easily than long rambling ones.

But getting cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity depends on more than formatting:

  • Can their bots reach your page? If your robots.txt blocks OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, no amount of optimization helps.
  • Does the page say something other pages don’t? AI answers tend to cite the source with the clearest, most specific answer or a unique fact.
  • Is your site already trusted? Pages that rank well in normal search are more likely to be picked up by AI search too.

A simple way to check is to wait a few weeks after publishing, then ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Mode the exact questions your post answers. Note who gets cited. If it’s never you, the fix is usually more original substance, not more formatting.

My take is that the AI-search claim is half true. The tool gives you a format that AI engines like. The substance that earns the citation still has to come from you.

SEOWriting.ai Pricing (and the Credit Catch)

Here are the current plans from the official pricing page, checked for this review.

PlanMonthly billingYearly billingCredits per monthBrand voicesInternal/external linking
Free$0$03 articles (25,000 words)0No
Starter$1914/mo(168/yr)501No
Professional$7959/mo(708/yr)2505Yes
Professional Plus 1$159119/mo(1,428/yr)50010Yes
Professional Plus 2$307230/mo(2,760/yr)1,00025Yes

Credits Are Not Articles

The plans say “up to 50 articles” or “up to 250 articles”. Read the fine print on the homepage and you’ll find that most models use 1 credit per article, but the advanced OpenAI and Anthropic models use 4 credits, and the strongest Anthropic model uses 10.

That changes the math a lot. On monthly billing:

Model typeStarter: articles/monthStarter: cost per articleProfessional: articles/monthProfessional: cost per article
Standard (1 credit)50$0.38250$0.32
Advanced (4 credits)12$1.5862$1.27
Top model (10 credits)5$3.8025$3.16

The premium models generally write more naturally and follow instructions more closely. For straightforward informational posts, the standard models are usually good enough. If you plan to use the better models most of the time, budget for the Professional plan from day one.

The Free Plan Undersells the Product

The free plan skips Real-Time SERP analysis, Content Score and what the comparison table calls “SEO-optimized articles”. Those are the reasons to buy the tool. If you judge it only on the 3 free articles, you’re judging a stripped-down version. A single month on Starter is a fairer trial.

Pros and Cons

What I likedWhat bothered me
Keyword to published WordPress post in one flow, with meta tags and images filled inCredits drain 4x or 10x faster on the better AI models
Bulk runs of up to 100 posts with scheduled publishingBulk publishing makes it easy to break Google’s scaled content rules
Pulls live search results before writing, so outlines match what ranksOutlines match what ranks, so articles rarely say anything new
Choice of models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and DeepSeekFree plan leaves out the SERP and scoring features you’d pay for
Low entry price at $14/month billed yearlyInternal linking locked behind the $79/month plan
Official WordPress plugin, Shopify app and MCP serverNo keyword research or rank tracking built in

SEOWriting.ai vs the Alternatives

The right comparison depends on whether you want a writer, an optimizer or a research tool. They are three different jobs.

ToolWhat it’s really forWrites full articles?Publishes to WordPress?Pick it over SEOWriting.ai if…
SEOWriting.aiFast drafts and bulk publishingYesYes, with scheduling—
Koala AILong-form and affiliate articlesYesYesYou mostly write Amazon roundups and want a similar tool with a different writing style
SurferOn-page optimization and content scoringYes, as an add-onVia integrationsYou write your own drafts and want deeper optimization guidance
FraseSERP research, briefs and outlinesYesVia integrationsYou care more about research and briefs than volume
ChatGPT or Claude directlyGeneral writing with full controlYes, with good promptsOnly through plugins or MCPYou publish a few posts a month and like editing prompts yourself

If your bottleneck is getting drafts formatted and onto your site, SEOWriting.ai is hard to beat at its price. If your bottleneck is making content better than what already ranks, a research or optimization tool plus your own writing will serve you better. Check each tool’s current pricing before deciding, since these plans change often.

Final Verdict: Is SEOWriting.ai the Best SEO Writer?

For speed and publishing convenience, it’s among the strongest options at its price. For rankings, it’s a helper, not the answer.

Buy it if you run WordPress or Shopify sites, publish regularly, and are happy to spend 20 to 40 minutes per article adding facts, examples and your own opinion before hitting publish. The Starter plan on yearly billing is cheap enough that one saved writing hour a month pays for it.

Skip it if you expect to publish raw output and watch the traffic arrive, or if your niche rewards deep expertise, like health, finance or law. You’ll spend so long rewriting that the speed advantage disappears.

Choose Professional instead of Starter if you want internal linking, more than one brand voice, or plan to use the premium AI models regularly. Otherwise the credits won’t last the month.

My overall score: 7.5/10. The tool does the parts of content work that are tedious. It leaves you the parts that actually earn rankings and AI citations, and that is probably the right split.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SEOWriting.ai free?

There’s a free plan with 3 articles and a 25,000-word limit, and you don’t need a card to sign up. It leaves out real-time SERP analysis and the content score, so it’s a limited preview rather than the full product.

Is SEOWriting.ai content detected as AI?

Often, yes, at least before editing. The built-in humanizer reduces obvious AI patterns, but detection tools vary a lot. Google has said it cares about whether content is helpful, not whether AI wrote it.

Will Google penalize articles made with SEOWriting.ai?

Not for being AI-written. The risk comes from publishing lots of thin, unedited pages at once, which Google treats as scaled content abuse. Edit your drafts and publish at a steady pace.

Does SEOWriting.ai help you get cited in ChatGPT?

It formats content in a way AI search tools can read easily, with clear answers, FAQs and tables. Whether you actually get cited depends on your site’s authority, whether AI bots can crawl it, and whether your page adds something other sources don’t.

How many articles do you really get per month?

It depends on the AI model you choose. Standard models use 1 credit per article, advanced OpenAI and Anthropic models use 4, and the top Anthropic model uses 10. So 50 Starter credits could mean 50 articles or just 5.

Does it work with WordPress?

Yes. It has an official WordPress plugin that auto-publishes or schedules posts with images and meta tags. It also offers a Shopify app and a WordPress MCP server.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. The pricing page says you can cancel, upgrade or switch plans at any time, and your saved articles stay in your account.

Is SEOWriting.ai better than ChatGPT for blog posts?

For publishing speed, yes, because it adds SERP research, formatting, images and direct publishing in one step. For control over tone and depth, writing with ChatGPT or Claude directly can give you better results, but it takes more time.
