SEOsandwitch: India’s Top SEO Blog
SEOsandwitch is one of India’s oldest and longest-running SEO blogs. Founded in May 2012 by Joydeep Bhattacharya, the blog has been continuously publishing content on search engine optimization, content marketing, and digital growth for more than thirteen years.
Since its launch, SEOsandwitch has documented virtually every major evolution in modern search—from Google’s Panda and Penguin updates to today’s era of AI Overviews, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Large Language Model (LLM) SEO, and Agentic Commerce.
Over the years, the blog has published more than 3,000 articles and resources designed to help marketers, entrepreneurs, agencies, businesses, and SEO professionals understand how search engines work and how to build sustainable organic growth.
Today, SEOsandwitch serves readers from around the world and continues to be a trusted source of information on SEO, AI search, content marketing, ecommerce growth, SaaS marketing, digital PR, marketing tools, and search technology.
Why SEOsandwitch Was Created
I started SEOsandwitch in May 2012 because I was fascinated by the rapid changes happening in search.
At the time, Google was rolling out major algorithm updates that fundamentally changed how websites ranked. Panda was reshaping content quality standards, Penguin was transforming link building practices, and marketers everywhere were trying to understand the future of SEO.
I saw an opportunity to create a resource that would simplify these complex changes and help people learn SEO through practical examples, research, experimentation, and real-world insights.
My objective was simple:
To cover every important development in search and help others understand how SEO works.
What began as a personal blog soon became a daily commitment and, eventually, a long-term professional journey.
Covering Every Major Era of SEO
One of the defining characteristics of SEOsandwitch is its long-term perspective on search.
Since 2012, the blog has covered major developments including:
- Google Panda
- Google Penguin
- Google Hummingbird
- Google Pigeon
- RankBrain
- Mobile-First Indexing
- Core Web Vitals
- E-E-A-T
- Helpful Content Updates
- Entity SEO
- AI Overviews
- ChatGPT Search
- AI-Powered Search Engines
- Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
- LLM SEO
- Agentic Commerce
Few independent SEO publications have documented the evolution of search across as many generations of Google’s ranking systems and technologies.
As search evolved from keyword-focused optimization to semantic search, entities, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, SEOsandwitch evolved alongside it.
My Blogging Journey
For much of the blog’s early history, I published content almost every day.
I spent thousands of hours studying search algorithms, analyzing ranking factors, testing optimization strategies, researching emerging trends, and sharing actionable insights with readers.
SEOsandwitch became more than a blog. It became a platform for learning, experimentation, and knowledge sharing.
The goal was never simply to report industry news. Instead, I focused on helping readers understand why changes were happening, how they affected rankings, and what businesses could do to adapt.
Over time, marketers, bloggers, students, entrepreneurs, agencies, and business owners began using SEOsandwitch as a trusted resource for learning SEO and staying informed about industry developments.
The Breakthrough Moment
One of the most important milestones in my professional journey came in 2015 when SEMrush published my article on competitor analysis.
For any SEO professional, being featured on SEMrush represents a significant achievement. That publication helped introduce my work to a broader audience and opened new opportunities within the search marketing industry.
Following that breakthrough, I began contributing regularly to several respected marketing publications and websites.
