Geolocation Targeting is not Spam!

Some webmasters often feel the need to redirect  the users based on the countries to different pages of their site. This means customized web pages are served for different users. If you are serving your users in this manner and redirecting them to some other page or geo specific domain of your site based on their ip address then that is totally fine as long as you are also redirecting the googlebots in the same manner. Google itself redirects users based on different signals (most important one is the users IP address) so that is not considered as spam. But, if you are showing different information to the search engines than what you are showing to the user, this would be considered cloaking and would count against the Google webmasters guidelines.
